You summed up my thoughts perfectly. The Twilight series has horrified and infuriated me on behalf of female kind since it first came out. I managed to cringe my way through only the first two movies (no, I haven't read any of the books), and having suffered an abusive relationship in my teen years, I saw scary red flags all over Edward from the moment the movie started.
